Beschreibung

B1 English: Reading and Listening aims to develop learners' reading and listening skills at B1 level. It is ideal for students who have just completed the course 'Essential English: From A2 to B1', or students who have had a long break from reading and listening in English, or those who feel unsure when reading in English and listening to English.
This course is an independent study course. After a first online meeting, you will study independently, complete different reading and listening tasks every week, and receive support and feedback on your tasks. You will deal with topics connected to the different areas of study at our university. By practising reading and listening at your own pace every week you will improve both skills.

Lernziele

After successful completion of B1 English: Speaking and Writing, students will be able to:
- understand the main points made in clear standard language or a familiar variety on familiar matters regularly encountered at work, school, leisure, etc.;
- understand the main points of simpler recorded material about familiar subjects delivered relatively slowly and clearly;
- read, understand the main points and important details of straightforward texts on subjects related to their field of interest with a satisfactory level of comprehension.

Voraussetzungen

Successful completion of Essential English: from A2 to B1 or equivalent B1-level skills

Prüfungsform

Portfolio of reading and listening tasks & final test on Kurt-Schumacher-Ring campus in Wiesbaden

Anwesenheitsregeln

Submission of portfolio tasks on a weekly basis
